Residential solar maintenance is an annual visual and electrical inspection, a connection and torque check, panel cleaning where soiling is measurably costing output, and confirmation that monitoring is still reporting. The point is to catch a failing component while it is a repair, rather than after it has taken production with it for six months unnoticed.

Dust, monsoon and cleaning
Panel cleaning is oversold in this market. On most Valley roofs, rain plus a shallow tilt keeps soiling losses modest, and a cleaning visit that costs more than the production it recovers is not maintenance, it is a subscription.
Where it does matter: after a haboob, near agricultural land or construction, under trees, and on low-tilt or flat-mounted arrays that never self-clean. We will tell you which you are.

How often should solar panels be inspected in Arizona?
Annually is reasonable for a residential system, and worth timing before monsoon season rather than after it. Commercial arrays and anything with a battery generally warrant more.
Does monsoon damage solar panels?
Panels themselves are rated for hail and high wind and usually come through fine. What we see damaged is mounting hardware, conduit, and rapid-shutdown devices — plus surge damage to inverters from strikes nearby rather than direct hits.
