Backyard Remodels, Pergolas & Shade Structures
Usable outdoor space in a climate that spends four months trying to prevent it.
A backyard structure in Phoenix is only as good as the shade it throws and the power running to it. We build pergolas, gazebos and shade structures under our CR-61 licence and wire them under our CR-11 — lighting, fans, outlets, and a subpanel where the load calls for one — which means the conduit is designed into the structure rather than strapped to it afterwards.
This work is performed under Arizona ROC #362988, CR-61 — Carpentry, remodeling & repairs. Verify it.
Design the power in, not on
The visible difference between a structure built by a carpenter and one built by a company that also does the electrical is where the wiring went. Conduit run inside a post looks like nothing. Conduit strapped to the outside of a post looks like exactly what it is, permanently.
The same applies to the fan blocking, the driver locations for low-voltage lighting, and the switch that decides whether you use the space after dark.
- Pergolas, gazebos and ramadas
- Integrated lighting and ceiling fans
- Outdoor-rated outlets and switching
- Subpanel where the load requires it
- Power for a spa, kitchen or misting system
What drives the cost
Span and post count, material, footing requirements, and how far the structure sits from an existing panel — that last one is frequently the biggest variable and the one nobody asks about until the quote arrives.
Frequently asked
Do backyard structures need a permit in the Valley?
Frequently yes, depending on size, whether it is attached to the house, and your jurisdiction. Any electrical serving it is separately permitted. We confirm both for your address.
Can you add power to a structure that is already built?
Usually. It is more work than doing it during the build, and the conduit is harder to hide, but it is very often worth doing.
Will an HOA need to approve it?
In most master-planned communities, yes. Approval is generally about height, materials and colour rather than the structure itself. Worth starting before we quote.
